More info on the fire mentioned in my previous post. Turns out I got the info wrong. The fire was yesterday afternoon, not this morning.
That would explain the plume of smoke I saw coming from the northeast when I was driving around on Sunday (though, I had guessed it was coming from somewhere farther east than it actually was).
